How to use pixel checker safely

How email tracking pixels work

A tracking pixel is usually a tiny remote image inside an email. When your email client loads that image, the sender's server may learn that the message was opened, when it was opened, and technical details such as IP address or device hints.

Pixels often look like normal image tags in HTML. Some are 1x1 pixels, transparent GIFs, or hidden with CSS so they do not appear in the visible message.

What this checker looks for

The checker scans pasted HTML for image tags, image dimensions, hidden styles, remote image URLs, and common marketing-link patterns. It also summarizes remote domains so you can see which external hosts the email references.

It does not load those images. It only parses the HTML text you paste into the box.

  • Tiny images such as 1x1 or 0x0 dimensions
  • Display-none, visibility-hidden, opacity-zero, or off-screen image styles
  • Remote image URLs that can call a sender-controlled server
  • Marketing links with UTM tags or click-tracking-style URLs

Limits and safe habits

Not every remote image is a tracker. Logos, product images, and newsletters often use remote images for normal design. Treat the result as a privacy clue, not a verdict.

For sensitive mail, disable remote image loading in your email client, use a privacy-focused inbox workflow, and avoid clicking links in messages you did not expect.
